Watling Brownie slot machine

Watling  Brownie slot machine

This is a Watling Brownie.

The Watling Brownie is much rarer than the Mills Brownie, Watling having made  far less machines than Mills. The condition is 100 percent original, it never has been restored, comes with original Watling key ..The plating is in very good original condition considering the age of this early gaming piece. From the condition I would believe its lived most of its life in a very dry climate. The wheel depicts  Palmer Cox Brownies on two spaces to indicate the high payout.Watling made this same machine with a plain coin head. The most desirable machine  always had more art work in the back castings of the coin head,  which this one does. The cast iron parts in the machine are stamped W.M  Co. for Watling Manufacture Company. There is not a finer original example of this machine. The machine is sold with an old reproduction Mills Brownie stand that was copied some time ago for this machine. The stand even has Mills Owl feet which are originally from a floor machine.
